This is for all of my fellow makers who are looking for something cool to make.
Feel free to contact me with any feedback or if you have questions about the making process. Thank you for your support and go make!
Compatibility & File formats Included:
– F3D (Fusion 360 native format)
– STL (can be used in various CAM software)
– DXF – Simplified 2D layout (does not include the sliding geometry)
This design is ideal for Fusion 360, including the original F3D file for easy editing and toolpath generation.
The included STL file can also be imported into other CAM software that supports toolpath generation from 3D geometry, making it flexible for different CNC workflows.
The DXF can be useful for quick 2D operations or visualizing the base shape.
Material & Size Recommendations
I used a solid walnut base, glued from around 5 cm thick slabs (off cuts for me) into a 42×42×15cm block.
Final dimension of the clock is 39cm in diameter but make sure you have room for clamping.
While the model can be scaled I suggest you keep it at least that big or bigger, but not smaller. There are many small hollows that will be hard to machine.
Required Tools & Machine
I machined this one using my PrintNC DIY 2.2kw router. Any router big enough to fit the base should do.
Bits I used: 6mm flat, 6mm ball and 3mm ball bit for the smallest hollows.
