ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Not sure where to start, so here goes…
This project started as a simple idea to use up leftover plywood and scratch my itch for designing a puzzle. I’ve had puzzles on my mind for a while, even though clocks kept distracting me (haha).
The puzzle itself is built from hexagons arranged in various patterns. It’s fun, but let’s be honest—there are tons of hexagon puzzles out there. I needed something more. That’s when the idea of the box came in.
I wanted the puzzle to live in its own "home"—something like an old-school NES or N64 cartridge case (big fan here). The box design turned into a bigger challenge than I expected, especially when I realized it needed a lid to keep the pieces secure. After many tweaks, I finally got it right, and now the lid fits snugly in the box, only coming out when you want it to.
I couldn’t be happier with the result—a puzzle that’s as much fun to play as it is to store!
